Our goal is to provide useful and objective information that is readily available for those wounded or are thinking about getting pierced. In no way should replace this part of the guidelines and instructions of your piercer.

Piercing Aftercare

Regardless of your particular policy, the key is to go to consistency. Decrease your care routine will only prolong the healing process and increase the likelihood of infection. In addition the following special cleaning and care steps should also focus on healthy lifestyles to promote healing.

The drill must always give written instructions. Specific details of the drill and may differ from the suggestions posted here. If you have any questions, consult your piercer.

Piercing Aftercare

Routine cleaning to clean
How often? Limited to once or twice a day

Wash your hands first. Never touch your piercing with dirty hands. Even if your hands look clean, wash with antibacterial soap.

Second Moisten cotton ball with warm water and gently remove the crust may have formed around the injection site. The easiest way to do this for a hot shower because the hot water and steam will help loosen the crust.

Piercing Aftercare

Third Apply a little soap (like pearl size drop) to the site of injection. Use a mild antibacterial soap. It is not necessary to rotate the jewelry if it seems to stick. Allowing soap for more than 30 seconds to avoid drying of the area.

Must have a mild antibacterial soap that is free of fragrances that can irritate the piercing. APP approved Provon Lotion Soap and Satin Antimicrobial Skin cleansing treatment.

Rinse the piercing room several times to remove all soap.

Dry your piercing fifth with a paper towel (or disposable paper as bandages, towels can harbor bacteria).


Sea salt is not nowhere
How often? Two or three times a day

Wash your hands first. Never touch your piercing with dirty hands. Even if your hands look clean, wash with antibacterial soap.

Secondly Add a pinch of sea salt and hot water (as hot as you can stand) in a disposable cup. You should not use sea salt and regular table salt.

What to avoid
First do not use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide in drilling.

Second wet and do not miss cream or ointment (like Neosporin) in drilling, to keep the wound, preventing the healing process.

Third Do not wear tight clothing over the piercing in the first phase of treatment.

Fourth Avoid public swimming pools and whirlpools, while the piercing is healing. If you swim, use special waterproof plaster during drilling. APP recommended Tegaderm, which are found in pharmacies.

Fifth do not play with your jewelry until cured.

Sixth Try not to sleep on your new piercing. This can irritate the piercing and prolong the healing process.


Navel Piercing Care
Always wear clean loose clothing around your new navel piercing. Tight clothing such as socks, belts, cuffs and can irritate the piercing. You can use the patch hard, vented eye under tight clothing in order to protect the area of clothing and irritation. You can keep the patch in position by placing an Ace bandage around the body. This is especially good if sports and physical activities.

Do not use body lotions and other tanning in your new piercing.


Eyebrow piercing care
Avoid using eye makeup, as some of the chemicals in makeup can irritate your piercing. Also do not use body lotions sunscreen or other fresh in your piercing.


Nose piercing care
Inside the nose is delicate and full of bacteria. Bacteria and viruses accumulate in the nostrils so clean is important.
